The Letter

Dear JJ,

The International Board of Stakeholders is in shock about your reaction to the proposal of the Dutch Raad van Commissarissen to appoint you as the Senior Responsible Officer of our Giant Future Operation.  The Dutch see it as a surprise stab in the back, and are not amused at all, to put it mildly.

This letter is an informal formal one, trying to convince you to join us once again, and to make peace about what you apparently see as a not so happy past. It is of very recent times that we learned about the fraudulous  moves of your former colleagues Vince Van Zanten and Marcel Den Braak. We took apt measures to remove them from their positions and are now preparing legal steps against them. As a matter of fact, yesterday we found a suicide note from Marcel, apologizing to you personally. This note, naturally, is available for you to read, as we made a copy before the police collected it as piece of evidence. Marcel, by the way, is out of intensive care at the Radboud University Hospital in Nijmegen, after a serious attempt to poison himself. He will face charges of fraud and contortion, as will Vince. He was picked up by the FBI a few miles of the coast of Key Largo. Justice will be done!

As a matter of fact, we thought we could not have made a better choice than to appoint you as our next Senior Responsible Officer, and most certainly were not aware of the bitterness inside you. We really want to help you to get rid of that, because we can see it will eat you and your family up. That, of cause, we don’t want to see happening, not even to our worst enemies. It would be wise to put this all behind us, would it not?

Would it convene you to fly to Miami in a few weeks’ time and discuss this messy situation with Charlie and me? Charlie is really looking forward seeing you again, she still is full of praise of your achievements earlier this year. She is a bit ambiguous about inviting you over, she wants in no way to make you think she only wants to butter you up. I told her we will invite you as a dear friend in the first place, whatever the circumstances businesswise.

JJ, I cannot do more than personally beg you to reconsider your point of view and once again join us. For me, it would be an honor to have you back, and for the holding it is no less than an urgent appeal to help us make a better future, although we most certainly are not to be compared with that sissies of Philips. JJ, where are you, now your company needs you?

I hope to see you in Miami on October 26 2012, our private jet will pick you up at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport in due time. As you know, the jet will take up to 20 people, so you are invited to bring whoever you like. Maybe we can visit some of our watering holes, just for old time sake!
